I have not written for over a week. Nothing new to me that was worth citing as Fabulous. Until today. Girlfriends, you need to check out Twist Style in Chester Village Green (located toward the back behind the Chester Library). It is a super cute shop of handmade jewelry and other items, most by local artists. It's like a local Etsy, which I visit more than is really healthy for the wallet.
I bought these earrings, and was overwhelmed by all of the choices in braclets, rings, and necklaces. She has so much more than the website, so you have to just go see for yourself. I loved it all, will be back again soon!!!!

Ceilings Drab to Fab
I recently decided to change it up with two ceilings in our house. Plain white was just boring me. So in the dining room, I opted for a "faux" finish and in the bedroom, I decided on a new color scheme.
The dining room was hard. I knew I wanted a mix of a lot of colors, and I wanted metallics. I looked at hundreds of photos online, and decided that I liked the look of venetian plaster, but did not want to have the glass-like appearance on the ceiling. My decorative painter did a sample board for me, and I was blown away. She knew exactly what I was looking for and set to work. Days later, I had a "masterpiece" work of art on my dining room ceiling.

In the bedroom, I knew I wanted a subdued, mellow hue for the walls and a complementary color for the ceiling. We have white crown moulding in there and I thought darker colors would help highlight the trim. I went to Benjamin Moore at Harbour Pointe and picked my colors. The paint swatches are as big as poster boards, so you can take them home and really get a feel for the color. I went with Montpelier Blue and Coastal Path Tan...I think the colors turned out to be pretty cool.
We would love to hear from some of you about other ways to add color to ceilings... please share your fabulous ideas!!!
My decorative painter for the dining room was Melanie Palma, http://www.melaniepalmadesigns.com/,
and I highly recommend her!!!
Smile Pen Teeth Whitening
If you're like me, you can't get through the day without your coffee or tea. And this translates into teeth that turn brown, ick! I have two dentists in my family, and while I have custom trays and the whitening gel, it tastes horrible and I have to be very mindful of how long I have them in or my teeth get tingly. I recently bought the Finishing Touch Smile pen at CVS. It promises to work in two days, and by golly, it did the trick. It tastes minty, you paint it on and leave it on. The pen gets in between your teeth where strips do not, and then pen is so small you can easily pack it or carry it in your purse. It is $9.99 in the "as seen on TV" section, and with CVS coupons, you can of course get it cheaper. So drink your coffee, studies this week show you live longer, and now you can also have bright pearly whites!

with your kids. I plan on using it as a handy resource in the summer (I can
only take the pool everyday for so long). I hope you find it useful!
BTW...Our goal is to use this blog as a great "sharing" resource so we want to hear from you!! If you know of something or want to share information with other moms, please comment or send us an email. We'll post it right away (naturally you'll get the credit!)! Send emails to heatherrhonda@gmail.com

Ice Cream Cone Sundae Cupcakes
Today is my oldest son's 10th birthday, and I surprised his class with these cool cupcakes. Not hard to make, and turned out quite cute! I researched how to best make them and here are my words of wisdom:
- you can make them right-side up in a muffin pan by putting cake mix to just above the checkered bottom (some people say turn the cone upside down with a muffin liner in the pan, but then you have rough cake to icing)
- box cake works fine, just bake at 350 degrees for 20 min.
- I tried fancy icing tips and even tried using my battery-operated icing pen (by Kuhn Rikon...do not recommend, more trouble than it is worth), but the most ice-cream like result came from just a 1/2 hole in the corner of a ziploc
- use a thicker fudge sauce or the squirt chocolate glaze that you microwave
- pat dry your cherries to add on top, and eat quickly! These cones get stale so do not recommend making the night before.
